The Blake Center sits on 100 acres on the dividing line between Connecticut and Massachusetts. The grounds include seven buildings, eight ponds, and miles of scenic wooded trails. The crowning jewel of the property—a replica of Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello—houses Hillsdale’s Blake Center, where the College will host seminars, lectures, and training sessions for K-12 teachers.
Events at the Blake Center focus on Christianity, Western Civilization, and America. Attendance at these events is by invitation only. If you would like to inquire about a particular event or request a tour of the center, please contact us at (860) 222-0386 or email blakecenter@hillsdale.edu.
In addition to Hillsdale programming, the Blake Center will occasionally host community benefit events in keeping with the College’s longstanding tradition of loving and serving our neighbors.
A good example of this is the Somers Rotary Fishing Derby. The 50th annual fishing derby was hosted on the campus in 2022, and there were a record number of kids ages 12 and under who fished for trout, bass, and catfish in one of the larger ponds at the Blake Center.
